A "spare" Wicker Man, aka "Wicker Man Jr", that was shown at Cannes.  It was placed in front of the Carlton Hotel on the Promenade de la Croisette. Roger Corman noticed it and became interested in the movie. it was burned there.

From the exploitationagogo site where the picture came from (via Google Translate): "A little anecdote: For the promotion of the film, during the 1973 Cannes Film Festival, a replica of the status of the Wicker man was built at the back of a truck's tray that rolled on the Croisette (pictured below). Promo that had to prove ineffective since the film was not even distributed yet."

AP archive footage (brief - from :44 tp :47) of the Wicker Man at Cannes, 5/11/73!

See also this pic of the crew preparing it for transit there.
