Olive Mcdonald[]

Olive Mcdonald, a seamstress who worked on-set at Lochinch for three days, took some home movie video on a 1" reel to reel deck. You can see it and read more about it here.

Plockton[]

There is a longer version of the home movie footage that was shot in Plockton but it has been removed from YouTube due to the owner's concerns. You can see it however in this Internet Archive link (.avi download).

The shorter version of that footage, from the same owner is up on YouTube, It starts with Howie shouting at the girls in the window with their masks on. It also includes scenes of Howie and others in the cast drinking with the locals many of whom you'll recognize as being in the movie. You can see that here. There is even more footage of both of these scenes that is currently unavailable so until that comes forth, this is the only footage at all that shows the film being made. (Olive's footage above poorly shows Christopher Lee at the costume van but nothing of the actual shooting of the film. A blooper reel also exists. It was shown in Falkirk in 1999 as well as London in 2000.) See more on all this here.
